Recently I had the pleasure of being in Japan shooting the Hokkaido region. Of the many redeeming features this winter wonderland provides magnificent winter landscapes. One of my favourite features is the majestic Mt Yotei. Shaped like a fairy take volcano it completely dominates the landscape for miles. I took this on a clear day with the air so crisp and clean it felt like any part of the image could be literally be “snapped off”. I post processed in black and white to bring out the contrast in the scene and emphasize the delicate trees.
